About This Spot

Stepping into A Reloxería feels like being welcomed into a quiet corner of Palas de Rei where tradition and warmth linger in the air. Nestled along Travesía da Igrexa, this unpretentious restaurant carries a gentle buzz — the kind that invites you to slow down and savor each moment, from the first sip of rich red wine to the last bite of a delicately baked cheesecake.

The pace here is comfortably unhurried, allowing the genuine hospitality of the staff to shine even on the busiest evenings. Behind every friendly smile and attentive gesture, there’s a deep care for the local Galician flavors that define the menu. Whether it’s a steaming bowl of caldo Gallego or the subtle char of pulpo a brasa, the dishes arrive feeling like familiar stories told with fresh expression — honest, rooted in place, and satisfying in their simplicity.

Many come seeking a taste of Galicia’s culinary soul, and A Reloxería quietly earns its place with offerings that provoke a reflective appreciation rather than a rush of spectacle. The balance of ingredients, the delicate contrasts in the vegetable lasagna or the hearty presence of a gourmet hamburguesa, reflect a thoughtful kitchen attuned to both comfort and craft.

This is a spot that resonates especially with travelers embracing the spirit of the Camino, who find solace here after long days of walking. Yet it welcomes locals with equal warmth, creating moments that feel both intimate and communal. The hum of conversation blends with the clink of glasses, and in those moments, the restaurant reveals itself not just as a place to eat, but as a gathering space where stories are shared, and journeys are quietly celebrated.

In A Reloxería, you find something more than a meal — a pause, a welcome, and a reminder of the richness found in thoughtful, honest hospitality tucked away in Lugo’s heart.

The service was great, then came the food that was amazing. We've been in Spain for 7 days now but A Reloxeria has the best Galician food from their soup, entrée, dessert and wine. Their Santiago Tart was the best yet!

The food and service here are outstanding! I am walking the Camino (I am from Australia) and this is the best meal I have had in Spain. I had an amuse bouche of potatoes & chorizo broth then a tomato Gazpacho made with Galician tomatoes, followed by pork ribs & potatoes plus a delicious baked cheesecake with white chocolate. All meals were delicious as was the local white wine. This restaurant is modern, cool and the staff are friendly. I wish I could stay in Palas de Rei 2 nights just so I could eat here again.

The caldo gallego itself was not bad, but paying over ten euros just for a soup mehhhhh. You can find it elsewhere for maybe 7 euros( but if ur quite comfortable, just ignore my comments). However, that being said, it doesn't mean I don't recommend this place. My friend had a vegetarian pasta, and it was really tasty. And the service is outstanding, all the staff are very friendly and well-trained.

Service is as good as can be bc there's only one server on a busy evening. She's working like crazy. Anyway. The food is fabulous. I watched what others were eating and not only did it look delicious I heard the patrons raving over the fish and the carne. I had the pork ribs which were very good. The wine and beer also great. I highly recommend A Reloxeria!!!!
